Now, use a pair of scissors to trim the excess fabric from
the tack down stitches.
NOTE: Trim close, but not TOO close! If you get too close
to your stitches, the base fabric could pull out as the
embroidery design is ran.
Depending on the design you choose, there may be 1 or
more appliqué steps. Run the design and stop when you
reach the first placement stitch, if applicable.

Take your appliqué fabric and place it right side up over
the placement stitches.
Run the tacking stitch for the appliqué.

Using a pair of scissors, trim away the excess fabric from
the tacking stitches.
Your appliqué will look something like this once trimmed.
