Anatomy of the design
CUT IT OUT
Cutwork is a beautiful heirloom technique that
can be created easily, no cutwork needle required!
Anita Goodesign wanted to make the process
simple with a larger cutwork space indicated by
marking stitches. The dividing cutwork bars will
sew directly onto the wash away stabilizer, quickly
giving the design the desired look without having
to trim all the tiny windows! Tonal thread colors
on a neutral linen carry an air of sophistication,
while the embroidered details like flowers and
extra flourishes will keep the design whimsical.
Creating cutwork is easier than
ever! We give you marking
stitches to trim inside of, creating
the cut space. Specially digitized
bi-satin stitches will then finish
the raw edges and create the
“window” look in the design.
NOTE FOR HOOPING
These cutwork designs were created as
embroidery designs to incorporate into a large
variety of projects, and therefore do not include
the usual placement stitch for your linens.
To hoop a linen or table runner that includes
a decorative edge, use 2 layers of wash away
stabilizer for added durability, as well as a
combination of spray adhesive and pins to
secure your linen flat on top of the hoop. To read

with the cutwork, read on to the Step by Step
Instructions!
