choosing colorS
and patterns
Each of these 5 designs has a look that’s totally it’s own, so we decided
to match our fabric the same way! Rather than selecting a fat quarter
bundle and trying to get each design to work with those colors, we
selected our patterned fabrics specific for each design’s look. Try
utilizing your favorite patterns or colors in your bag’s design!
threads
Just as we did with our fabrics, we selected colors
after we had decided on a design. Choose thread
colors to compliment your fabric choices and bring
out some of the pretty tones or colors. Remember,
when tacking the folded fabric in your bag, use a
matching thread for the least obvious stitch lines.
Notions
For these bags, you will want a close-end zipper
with a plastic coil. The best bag results will come
from zippers featuring a split-resistant coil and
about a 1/2” of zipper tape on either side of the coil.
You will also need scissors, tape, a seam ripper,
rotary cutter, and a ruler.
