Since these designs are all so different in topic and look, you will likely need a
different colorway for each patch. Select the patch you are wanting to make.
Begin with the basic black or white thread for the outer edge, then select your
colors based off the patch’s design, or make it all your own! We are making a
camping patch, so we are choosing navy, grey, and green threads.

FABRIC
All patches are not the same, but they’re made
pretty similarly! The only fabrics you will need
to create your patch will be the felt to stitch your
design on as well as an appliqué fabric for the
actual patch design elements. Check your design’s
numbered steps to see what appliqués will be
placed to help select the fabric color.
Notions
You will be making the patch on tear away
stabilizer, so a good pair of scissors is all that is
really needed. To trim down some of the excess felt
when finished, a rotary cutter and ruler can come in
handy. You may also want some pins to help place
your patch on an item before stitching.
